Founder Magazine (FM): Nii Osae, it’s a pleasure to have you. Could you begin by telling us about your early journey into technology and entrepreneurship?

Nii Osae Osae Dade (NOOD): Thank you for having me. My interest in technology began early—by the age of six, I was already deconstructing and rebuilding computer hardware to understand how it worked. My passion deepened during my time at Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School, where I led the computer club. That curiosity and drive to create, not just consume technology, led me to co-found CYST, and later Mazzuma and Utopia Technologies.

Nii Osae on X: "I feel very honoured to be part of the 2018 @forbesafrica 30 under 30 list. I want to thank God and everyone for supporting me throughout my journey. #About Mazzuma & Utopia Technologies

NOOD: Mazzuma is a Ghanaian mobile payments ecosystem with over 300,000 users. We utilize artificial intelligence and blockchain to enable seamless, fast, and inexpensive transactions and remittances, with integrations across e-commerce platforms and payments APIs.

FM: And Utopia Technologies—how does it complement your work with Mazzuma?

NOOD: As the co-founder of Utopia Technologies, I lead efforts in building digital commerce platforms tailored for emerging markets. Utopia focuses on expanding digital finance and commerce infrastructure, leveraging insights and technology rooted in Mazzuma’s foundation
