Bridget Boakye — Co-founder of TalentsinAfrica & ChaleKasa

Bridget Boakye

Founder Magazine (FM): Bridget, thank you for joining us. Can you tell us a little about your background and what led you into entrepreneurship?

Bridget Boakye (BB): Thank you for having me. I was born in Ghana, but I’ve spent time living and studying abroad, which gave me a broader perspective on Africa’s challenges and opportunities. I’m passionate about youth empowerment, education, and connecting Africans at home and in the diaspora. My entrepreneurial journey came from wanting to solve real problems: access to jobs and meaningful connections for African youth and professionals.

🚀 About TalentsinAfrica

FM: You co-founded TalentsinAfrica. For those unfamiliar, what is it all about?

BB: TalentsinAfrica is a talent accelerator and recruitment platform that helps young Africans showcase their skills and connect with job opportunities. We use AI-driven tools to assess skills, provide training, and match candidates to employers. Our goal is to close the gap between Africa’s young, skilled workforce and the growing demand for talent.

FM: How does TalentsinAfrica differ from other recruitment platforms?

BB: We don’t just post jobs. We help young people identify their skills, build them further, and then directly connect them with employers. We also focus on inclusivity—helping women and underrepresented communities access opportunities.

FM: You also co-founded ChaleKasa. Can you tell us about it?

BB: ChaleKasa is an events and conversation platform that brings Africans and the diaspora together. We host curated events that foster cultural exchange, networking, and collaboration. It’s about building bridges and empowering Africans everywhere to connect, share ideas, and create solutions together.

❓ Interview Questions (Startup Focused)

FM: What problem were you solving with TalentsinAfrica?
BB: Youth unemployment is a major issue in Africa. Many talented young people can’t find jobs because they lack the right connections or the means to showcase their skills. We wanted to change that.

FM: How many young people has TalentsinAfrica reached so far?
BB: We’ve impacted thousands of job seekers across Ghana and beyond, with success stories of people securing jobs locally and internationally.

FM: What are the biggest challenges you’ve faced building a startup in Ghana?
BB: Access to funding is always a hurdle, and convincing employers to trust new platforms can take time. Another challenge is digital literacy gaps—we work to ensure our platform is accessible and user-friendly.

FM: How do you balance running two initiatives—TalentsinAfrica and ChaleKasa?
BB: It’s all about great teams and collaboration. Both ventures are aligned with my mission of empowerment and connection, so they complement each other well.

FM: Where do you see TalentsinAfrica in the next five years?
BB: We want to become Africa’s leading platform for talent development and recruitment, scaling across multiple countries, and helping millions of young Africans find meaningful work.

🌍 Vision & Impact

FM: How do you see Africa’s youth shaping the future?
BB: Africa’s youth are our greatest asset. With the right skills and opportunities, they can transform not just our continent, but the world. That’s why I’m so committed to investing in them.

FM: If you weren’t building startups, what would you be doing today?
BB: Probably writing full time and working on social advocacy projects. Storytelling and social impact have always been part of who I am.
